A World Gone Mad

I wrote this song as a tribute to my friend, Sam, the one "a la pic".

The sun rose again today my friend
Still can't believe what's happening
I want the world to stop
Why won't time stand still?
I need the world to stop
Need them to know how I feel

My world's gone mad friend
You're not here
My world's gone mad friend
I'm missing you

There is so much that is just new and crazy about this year. I hardly know what to with it all. But I know where my trust is. The same Hope of glory that Sam put his trust in. And as always God gives me a reason - He is my reason for getting up each day. Or else where would my hope be anyway? I love God because... because He is. I can't think of a better way to put it. The Bible talks about Him giving us the peace that transcends all understanding. And I can surely say that. That "those who trust in the LORD will be like Mount Zion: they shall not be shaken." And that is my song. That is my hope, that is my joy. Death has lost its sting. We died along time before this when we surrendered our lives to Christ and said, like Paul, "It is no longer I who live, but Christ in me." And therefore also, are we to be raised with Him in life. "To live is Christ and to die is gain."

"Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, 'For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are counted as sheep for he slaughter.'

Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God , which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Romans 8:35-39
